The Old Fashioned: Named after the traditional drink of Wisconsin, the Old Fashioned is famous for not just that signature drink but also their deep fried cheese curds. A must stop for anyone visiting the city or state.

Heritage Tavern: Located just a block off the square, Heritage Tavern plays host to a menu of locally sourced ingredients used in dishes that are inspired from all across the globe. While they take pride in their culinary offerings, their cocktails and wine selection are not to be missed either.

Ian’s Pizza: Known for the selling creative and clever pizzas by the slice, Ian opened his doors in 2001. Madison as a college town immediately embraced Ian’s and its success and taken it to Denver and and as far as Seattle. Whether you are in a hurry for a quick slice on the go or if you want to try one of their unique pizza offerings, Ian’s is definitely worth the stop.

Coopers Tavern: Voted Madison’s best restaurant in 2018 and 2019, a trip to Cooper’s Tavern is not to be missed. Featuring the aesthetic of a genuine public house Cooper’s offers a multitude of handcrafted sandwiches and entrees sourced from local purveyors. Also, if you are a beer fan, they pour 28 different beers on tap and over 120 bottles of beer from all over the world.

The Weary Traveler Freehouse: In the heart of the famous Willy Street neighborhood sits a favorite among locals, the Weary Traveler. This eatery features elevated homemade pub food with a focus on sustainability and fresh ingredients. Adorning the walls are eclectic pieces of art, old maps and old portraits, which are best admired with a local beer or custom craft cocktail in hand.

The Great Dane Pub & Brewery: A staple to the Madison area, The Great Dane first opened its doors in 1994 at it’s downtown location. Long before the craft beer movement, the founders had the idea to offer a wide variety of house-brewed ales and lagers along with made from scratch pub fare. Fancy a game of pool or darts on your pub visit? The Great Dane is known for their pool halls where people gather for a friendly game.
